Update: Casa Node software is no longer maintained; we recommend looking at other build-your-own node projects.

Today’s update is small due to the holidays, but it has some bug fixes for Lightning that will help a lot of users, so we’re excited to get it released!

Lightning Node fixes

Some users have had issues with a neverending loading spinner or a password popup that shows up constantly. This is caused by LND repeatedly crashing. Through our 1:1 support sessions with these users, we’ve found it’s nearly always due to an error with uPnP or port forwarding settings.

The best way to fix this situation is to set up port forwarding correctly in the Lightning node settings. To enable this, we’ve added:

  • A cancel button on the password unlock prompt, that will allow you to leave the wallet locked and still access the connection settings
  • A new loading indicator on the dashboard cards that no longer blocks the node management buttons

If you’re having this issue, please follow this guide to fix it.

Other fixes

  • The Update Software button will no longer show in the Settings menu if an update is not available
  • Fixed a bug where LND could show the incorrect number of blocks synced

Thanks to our amazing Casa community using the Casa Node and making suggestions for improvement! 2018 has been an excellent year, and we plan for 2019 to be even better. Happy New Year!
