Update: Casa Node software is no longer maintained; we recommend looking at other build-your-own node projects.

Today's update has an important feature that allows you to change your password, shows the version numbers of Bitcoin Core and LND, and fixes a couple small bugs. It will be available on all nodes later today.

Note: This update takes longer than most - please give your node at least 15-20 minutes to update.

Viewing your version of Bitcoin Core and LND

You can now see your version of Bitcoin and Lightning from the Settings menu. This allows you to make sure you're running the latest version of Lightning in order to be secure against the recently announced LND vulnerability. It's important to check this version and make sure you are on LND v0.7.1 - if you're running this update, you'll be secure.

Changing your node password

You can now change your node's password from the Settings menu. This only works if you still know your existing password. Changing your password is dangerous and you need to do it carefully - there is no Forgot Password feature, because you don't connect to Casa's servers, so make sure you have the new password saved properly before completing the change. We strongly recommend using a password manager like LastPass or 1Password to generate and save your password—if you forget it, you will not be able to access your node and will have to factory reset it.

Have you had trouble logging in on Sats App with your real Node password?  This should fix that - just reset to a new password and try again.

Bug Fixes

  • Zero-sat invoices (like for tipping) will now properly show the final amount sent in the transaction history list
  • Fixed a bug with some nodes having trouble setting their internal IP address
